Board of Directors Meetings

The Board of Directors hold their regular meetings the 3rd Thursday of each month at noon.  The meetings are held at the Civic Centers located in East Tawakoni, Emory, and Point.  Special meetings may be called as needed.

Annual Chamber Banquet

The Chamber has an annual banquet during March each year for all members of the Chamber.  This banquet also honors the outstanding 8th grade students selected by the Scholarship / Education Committee and their families.  

Annual Chamber Picnic

During the month of July the Chamber has a picnic for all its members.  This event is usually held at beautiful Greene's Lake where the members and guests enjoy a pot luck dinner, can visit with each other, kids can boat around the lake, and generally have a fun afternoon.  Greene's Lake offers a cool comfortable location for this summer event.

Chamber Mission

Purpose:

The Rains County Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business men and women and private individuals who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic, commercial and industrial progress of the greater Rains County, Texas area.

The mission adopted by the Chamber is to achieve the following objectives within our communities:

1. To promote all facets of the county through leadership, community involvement, and economic development.

2. To develop innovative ideas and goals for the growth and marketing of goods and commerce.

3. To develop common interests, to educate and to provide an environment for the creation and growth of commerce and quality of life for all its citizens.

4. To preserve and encourage the competitive free enterprise system.

5. To encourage public policy conducive to the expansion of free enterprise.

6. To promote higher business standards and better business methods and encourage uniformity and cooperation in the business community of Rains County.

7. Establish and maintain integrity of the local commercial market in Rains County.

Vision Statement:

To market and promote the geographical location and community resources within Rains County in an effort to attract the highest quality businesses and individuals to locality in order to enhance the overall quality of life for generations to come.

Chamber Membership

Membership:

Any business firm, individual, association, corporation, partnership, or organization having an interest in the objectives of the CHAMBER shall be eligible to apply for membership.
