Scholarships

The Chamber provides scholarships to local graduating seniors.  The Scholarship  / Education Committee oversees the selection process.  Applications and information are available through the Rains High School Councilor's Office.  Applicants are required to write essays and are interviewed by the Committee who selects the finalists.  These finalists are then invited to meeting of the Chamber Directors and asked to stand and talk about their occupational goals and educational plans.  Directors then ask questions of the finalists before voting for the recipients.    Recipients are announced during the graduation ceremonies. 

Fund raisers are sponsored by the Chamber to maintain and expand the scholarship trust fund.  These include the annual Executive Walk and Fun Run as well as the golf tournament.
